This Privacy Policy describes how LegalCite (“we” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your personal information in connection with your use of both the www.legalcite.ca website (the “Website”) and the LegalCite software (the “Software”).

Privacy is essential for legal professionals. We understand this. We only collect the absolute minimum amount of information required to provide our services.
We do not collect any data about the documents you cite, create, or open using the Software.
The following is an exhaustive list of every piece of information we collect from LegalCite Core and LegalCite Plus users, and the purpose for which we collect it. We may collect additional diagnostic data from LegalCite Beta users.
2.1 Correspondence
When you correspond with us, we may collect - The content of the correspondence - The contact information provided with the correspondence - The date and time of the correspondence
We collect this information to help answer your questions, resolve issues, and respond to your feedback.
2.2 Website Form Submissions
When you submit a form on the Website, we may collect - Your name - Your email - Your role - Your organization - Your graduation date
We collect your name and email to communicate with you and to manage your LegalCite subscription. We collect your role and organization to better understand the needs of our users. If you are a law student, we collect your graduation date so that we can provide you with a free trial until you graduate.
2.3 Bug Reports
When you submit a bug report though the Software, we collect - Your name - The date and time the bug report was submitted - Your written description of the bug - Any additional information that you explicitly choose to provide in the bug report form
We collect this information to discover and resolve bugs and improve the Software.
2.4 Licence Monitoring
When you use the Software, we occasionally collect - Your computer name - Your user name - Your IP address - The Software version currently running - The date and time the licence check occurred
We collect this information to verify that the Software is used only by licenced users.
2.5 Website Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect information about visitor behavior on our Website. Google Analytics stores information such as what pages people visit, how long they are on the Website, how they got here and what they click on. This Analytics data is collected via a JavaScript tag in the pages of the Website and is not tied to personally identifiable information. Analytics data collected from public portions of our Website cannot be used to identify who you are.
